Hot Seat Question Time

Hot seat

This activity helps children to think how something affects an individual.

A child or adult takes on the role of a character and puts themselves in the “Hot Seat”. Many roles can be explored this way, from industrialists and scientists to environmental activists.

The class have to ask questions to find out more about the character’s life, difficulties and motivations. To support children, help them to prepare their questions in advance.

If you arrange for a visit from a scientist or industrialist, children could prepare questions and invite them to take the Hot Seat!

The 'hot seat' could be an intimidating place, so volunteers only!
