Local industrial partners may be willing to send one of their employees into school to talk about the science they do.
This is a big event for the children and they can really enhance their science by preparing for the visit with questions to ask, activities to demonstrate and investigation results to present.
To get the best out of any visit, liaise with the industrial partner so that they know exactly what will be best for the children.
You may need to advise them on what equipment they could bring, and what pictures the children would find interesting. Check if they intend doing any practical demonstrations, and if they will need you to provide anything. You will also need to carry out a risk assessment.
Provide your visitor with information about the your class. Those with less experience communicating with children may need guidance to help them pitch what they do at the right level.
