Does it matter what opinions teachers hold?

Sometimes people hold stereotypical ideas of industry which no longer reflect the increasing diversity of industry which has developed over the past 20 years. For example, some people still equate the word industry with coal mining, steel production and shipyards. In other words 'heavy industry' and its associated landscapes and issues.

This does not accurately reflect the current situation in the UK.

It is important children do not acquire misleading ideas about industry, not least because for many this may be an appropriate carrer route.
