Year 5/6 and 7/8 teachers write transition unit

Year 5 and/or 6 teachers and Year 7 and /or 8 teachers create transition units.

One creative and effective approach to transition is to write a short unit of work that is begun in year 6 and is picked up again in year 7.

There are clearly some practical issues with this, not least that a secondary school will often have several feeder primaries, and each primary school may feed to several secondary schools. Success is most likely if collaboration between several schools is possible.
